Overview:

Where’s What? is the Ultimate Observation Game. Designed to be a fun challenge to test the whole family.

Players take turns to match pairs from the Cards on the game board.

There are 45 matching pairs to find and Players face an array of Special Cards, Action Cards and Corner Cards to help or hinder them in their quest to win the game.

Preparation:

For best results play on a surface with friction such as a table cloth. This will help to prevent the cards from moving during play.

To set up the game all 100 Game Cards must be placed on the game board in random order.

The 40 Action Cards must be shuffled and placed into position around the edges of the board (10 per side).

The Corner Cards must be shuffled and one allocated to each corner of the game board.

How to play:

The game consists of 100 Cards randomly placed across the game board, 40 player Action Cards and 4 Corner Cards.

Players take turns clockwise to choose two Cards and flip them over. If they draw a matching pair the player takes the Cards off the game board and keeps them safely to the side. This is their stack of Cards.

The Player continues their turn selecting two more Cards. This continues until the player draws an unmatched pair.

If the player reveals a unmatched pair their turn is over and the Cards should be returned to their place face down. The Player then selects a Action Card before their turn ends.

Action Cards:

There are 40 Action Cards shuffled and placed around the game boards edge. When a mismatched pair is drawn the players turn ends and they must choose an Action Card.

Some Action Cards must be implemented immediately, and some can be retained by the player for use either before their next turn or later in the game.

Unless stated Action Cards are single use. When a player uses an Action Card they must then discard it. Once all Action Cards have been discarded play continues without them.

Corner Cards:

The 4 Corner Cards are shuffled and placed into the corner spaces.  The 4 Cards each have a unique ability which can either be good or bad depending on which you select:

1 – Shuffle and return all of your Pairs to the game board.

2 – Shuffle and return half of your Pairs to the game board. If you have an odd number of pairs use the greater half. For example, if you have 5 sets pairs you should return 3 sets to the game board.

3 – Bank all of you Pairs. These are now safe from any player action cards and cannot be affected by in game play.

4 – Bank half of your Pairs. If you have an odd number of pairs use the greater half. For example if you have 5 sets pairs you should Bank 3 sets. These are now safe from any player action cards and cannot be affected by in game play.

Special Cards:

There are numerous Special Cards throughout the game board. These Cards have a specific action for the player to complete.

IMPORTANT: Special Cards do not need to be matched in pairs and are removed from the board when found and retained by the player.

If a player reveals a Special Card as part of an unmatched pair they must complete the required action on the card. The player then discards the Special Card and the unmatched card is returned to the game board. The Players turn ends and they draw an Action Card as normal.

Ninja Cards:

There are three Ninja Cards to be found on the game board and each has its own action to complete.

IMPORTANT: Ninja Cards do not need to be matched in pairs and are removed from the board when found and retained by the player.

HOWEVER. If a player manages to locate and retain all three Ninja Cards they become a Master of Stealth and gain the ability to remove all the banked Cards from a player of their choice, one time only. This must be done upon drawing the third Ninja Card. This is the only possible way a player can lose their Banked Cards.

Four Card Finisher:

There are four Golden Trophy Cards on the game board.

Any Player can immediately win the game on their turn if they can find and match the four Golden Trophy Cards in play. To complete the Four Card Finisher these Cards must be found in two consecutive pairs on the same turn.

For example: If a player removes one pair of Golden Trophy Cards these are removed as a normal pair from the board. The Player must then Immediately draw the remaining matched pair of Golden Trophy Cards to complete the Four Card Finisher and win the game.

If instead the player reveals a regular matched pair or an unmatched pair, they continue or end their turn as normal but will not be able to complete a Four Card Finisher. Once a pair of Golden Trophy Cards are removed from the board in this way there can no longer be a Four Card Finisher in that game.

Coin Card: This card is included in case you don’t have a coin to hand and need to flip for it.

Ending the game:

The game ends when either all matching pairs have been drawn, or a Four Card Finisher has taken place.

And the winner is:

The winner is the player who has the most Cards once all matching pairs have been drawn. Congratulations, you earned it!

Alternatively, a player who draws a Four Card Finisher immediately wins the game regardless of how many Cards remain on the board.
